Will I be able to talk to my son on the phone?

In most instances, yes. However we discourage excessive one-on-one parental action as one of the most important parts of our program is teaching independent living skills to clients.

Residents can bring personal twin bedding, towels and a pillow but these items will be supplied if needed. Residents will need personal hygiene products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste etc. Also, residents can bring items such as cd players, laptops and other such electronic devices. Bring with you at least five changes of clothing.

How is the Gaston House Program different from other programs?

We believe that a personal relationship is where change occurs. Basically Young Life method. Earn being heard, change occurs in community, meet them where they are.

We encourage this if your son wishes to attend college classes while a resident. Help in registering as well as accountability and learning resources are available from staff.

Yes. We require all residents to either be seeking employment or working 25+ hours a week in order to learn responsibility, job-seeking skills and to defer parental costs.
